We are thrilled to announce that three New Society titles have won Foreword INDIES Book Awards this year.
Gold in Ecology and Environment
Climate-wise Landscaping: Practical Solutions for a Sustainable Future by Sue Reed and Ginny Stibolt won Gold in the Ecology and Environment category of the Foreword Indie Awards.
The ecology and environment category honours books that comment on environmental themes, particularly as applied to the relationships between humans, society, and the environment. Often, environmental literature is understood to promote care and concern for the environment and advocates a more thoughtful and ecologically sensitive relationship of man with nature.
Bronze in Business & Economics
A Finer Future: Creating an Economy in Service to Life by L. Hunter Lovins, Stewart Wallis, Anders Wijkman & John Fullerton received the Bronze in the category of Business & Economics
This category honours books that examines economic, financial, and management issues in a readable manner. They also may explore the lives of prominent business people, tracing their journey to success in business.
Bronze in Self-Help
The Aging of Aquarius: Igniting Power and Purpose as an Elder by Helen Wilkes received a Bronze in the Self-help category.
This category recognizes books that describe how to improve one's life in some way, either by raising self-esteem, increasing health, or learning a new skill.
Over 2,000 entries were submitted in 56 categories, with Foreword’s editors choosing approximately 10 finalists per genre. Those finalists were then mailed to individual librarians and booksellers charged with picking the Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners.
